Dakham's Tailor Shop & Tuxedos is a family owned and operated business since June 1994. We are located at 230 7th Avenue, South Charleston, WV in the South Charleston Mound Shopping Area. Dakham's is named after it's owner, Dakham Sayavong. We first opened our store in 1994 at 310 7th Avenue, South Charleston, WV mainly as a women's boutique selling suits, casual wear and formalwear and offering alteration services. But with the change in economics, we had to change too and did so by discontinuing our women's boutique and focusing on formalwear sales, tuxedo rental services and our custom tailoring and alterations services in 2000. As our tuxedo rental services steadily grew, we started running out of room and decided to look for a much bigger space. We bought the property at 230 7th Avenue in early 2005 and after major renovations, moved into our new space in September 2005. Our new facility is approximately 3000 sq. ft. and houses hundreds of tuxedos, shirts, vests, ties, shoes and accessories in an array of colors and styles. We have made it very easy for our customers to rent or buy a tuxedo from us by having many styles of tuxedos in stock so that you may walk in and get your tuxedo on the same day, but if you should need one special-ordered, we can do that as well. We provide professional fitting to ensure proper sizing and all alterations are done by us on premise. Our alterations and custom tailoring department is available for men's, women's, and children's clothing, curtains, table cloths, uniforms, leather & suede clothing, wedding dresses, riding habits, zipper replacements, buttons, button-holes, etc. We have also custom tailor-made men's suits, lady's suits and dresses, wedding dresses, mother of the bride dresses, pants, halloween costumes and recital costumes for many of our customers. Besides tuxedo rentals, alterations and custom tailor-made services, we also have an in-house jewelry repair service with the Master Goldsmith being Dakham's husband, Kong; who was taught by Dakham's older brother, Master Goldsmith May Daeng, where they both had worked for Galprin's Jewelry Inc. in Charleston, WV for over 10 years and May Daeng had worked for McCormick's Jeweler's in Kanawha City for over 15 years. Dakham's jewelry repair department provides a full-service jewerly repair shop, watch battery replacements and jewelry engravings. Whether it's our tuxedo rental service, our alterations & custom tailoring service or our jewelry repair service, we pay close attention to details; from the first stitch to our last and all items are pressed, steamed and inspected before we hand it back to our customers.
